"If you cannot measure it,

         you cannot improve it"

- Lord Kelvin

During 15+ years in various roles in the biotech / medical device / pharmaceutical industry, I realized that success and process excellence depended on data: getting the right information in the hands of the right people at the right time in order to quickly resolve or avoid costly quality problems, optimize profit margins, and streamline workflows. This is just as true for business processes as it is for implementing Lean Six Sigma on the manufacturing floor or in the DNA sequencing lab.

I also realized that for myself and my colleagues, hundreds of hours were spent compiling, cleaning, and organizing data. In comparison, a much smaller amount time was spent actually running analyses and interpreting the data (given the right skills and tools). Therefore, much value was unlocked by making data flow: e.g. replacing slow and error-prone manual processes like paper forms and Excel workbooks with highly efficient and scalable automated solutions. Such opportunities to unlock value abound across industries and combine well with Lean Six Sigma (operational excellence) and quality improvement initiatives to maximize impact.

What does this mean for your business?

Opportunity awaits!

Recent advances in software and AI have also significantly brought down the cost and time required to implement such solutions.

Implications:

1. There has never been a better time to go digital. With an improved return on investment, many problems can now be fixed with process automation and process excellence skillsets that were not cost-effective to solve before. This will continue to accelerate in the next few years as AI tools continue to advance.

2. Businesses that do not prepare for and implement AI solutions are in danger of being left behind by those who do.

Regardless of where your company is on your journey of digital transformation and operational excellence, we are here to help you take things to the next level.
